Frequently Asked Warranty Questions

Q. WHAT IS THE A-PRO® HOME WARRANTY?

A. A Service Agreement covering the cost of repair or replacement of most major equipment and systems within the home in the event of a mechanical failure (subject to a low deductible per claim).

Q. WHY IS A HOME WARRANTY IMPORTANT?

A. Since no one can predict the serviceability or life of pre-owned equipment, a Home Warranty protects all parties. And, because buyers feel more comfortable buying a pre-owned home with a warranty, the seller gains a powerful merchandising tool.

Q. IS THE A-PRO® HOME WARRANTY THE SAME AS HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE?

A. No. Homeowner's insurance normally covers only damage caused by fire, water, lightning, etc., as well as consequential damage. The A-Pro® Home Warranty provides for repair or replacement in case of mechanical breakdowns or malfunctions due to normal wear and tear.

Q. DOES A HOME WARRANTY TAKE THE PLACE OF A PROFESSIONAL HOME INSPECTION?

A. No. Just like a home warranty, a home inspection is an important part of a real estate transaction. While an inspection can give you valuable information about a homes current condition, it does not guarantee the future performance of a home's systems or appliances. That’s where the warranty comes in.

Q. DOES THE A-PRO HOME WARRANTY REQUIRE A PROFESSIONAL HOME INSPECTION?

A. Yes. Your A-Pro® inspector will identify the systems and components warranty limitations according to the regulations of the State, ISHI or ASHI Current Standards of Practice for home inspectors.

Q. DOES THE A-PRO HOME WARRANTY HAVE PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS CLAUSES?

A. No. Our inspection report will let you know what is covered and what is not. Once the inspector has identified the systems in need for repair you will have the option of repairing them by a licensed third party professional for complete coverage. Or you may simply opt to omit the coverage for the item in need of repair. It’s always your choice.

Q. WHAT TYPES OF HOMES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR AN A-PRO HOME WARRANTY?

A. Our home warranties are designed to cover single family, owner-occupied, residential homes. Owner-occupied condominiums and townhouses are also eligible.

Q. WHAT IS THE PERIOD OF COVERAGE?

A. The extended contract begins on the date of closing or upon occupancy of the homebuyer. (Whichever comes first) and lasts for 12 months. Plus, your A-Pro® inspector provides 90-days of coverage free of charge —bringing the total coverage to 15 months. Simply the best in the industry!

Q. CAN THE SERVICE AGREEMENT BE RENEWED?

A. Your warranty can be renewed and either party may cancel coverage after the first year at any time.
